Policestation

The former St. Mary's Cathedral now serves as the headquarters for the Graystone Sheriff's Department. The building's Gothic architecture provides an impressive facade with its stone exterior, high ceilings, and spacious interior. The windows have been replaced with reinforced security glass, maintaining the building's character while meeting modern security requirements. The main entrance features heavy steel doors with electronic access controls.

The building's exterior displays the GSD insignia - a shield crossed with law enforcement symbols - prominently above the entrance. The original spires now house communication equipment and surveillance systems, taking advantage of their height for maximum coverage of the surrounding area.

The overall atmosphere of the GSD station is one of efficiency, security, and authority. The spacious layout allows for smooth operations while maintaining strict control over detainees. The building's size and structure provide ample space for all necessary police functions while creating an environment that reinforces the department's authority and effectiveness in maintaining order in Graystone City.

Main Entrance & Reception Area
The entrance opens into a vast reception area with high vaulted ceilings that create an imposing atmosphere. The former church nave has been completely reconfigured to serve as the modern police station's main hall. Comfortable but durable seating is arranged for visitors, with clear pathways to the reception desk.
The most prominent feature is the series of chain-fenced holding cages positioned along the perimeter walls beneath the arched windows. These temporary detention facilities, constructed from reinforced steel with transparent security panels, can accommodate multiple detainees while allowing for easy monitoring. The cages are arranged to provide maximum visibility from the central reception desk.
The reception desk itself is a large, U-shaped workstation equipped with multiple computer terminals, communication systems, and security controls. Behind the desk rises a wall of monitors displaying feeds from throughout the building and key locations around the city. Deputy Elyse Deniz typically staffs the desk, managing dispatch communications and supervising detainees in the holding cages with her distinctive quiet authority. The church's acoustics amplify even whispered conversations, making her enforcement of absolute silence all the more effective.
The center of the reception area features a digital information board displaying current wanted persons, public notices, and department announcements.
Administrative Offices
Along the sides of the main reception area are private offices and interview rooms. These soundproof spaces are used for confidential conversations, witness interviews, and administrative work. The senior deputies' offices are located in a separate wing, with the Sheriff's office positioned to overlook the main reception area.
An elevated observation platform provides a commanding view of the entire reception area below, allowing supervisors to monitor activities without being directly involved. This space is connected to the administrative offices by a secure staircase.
Specialized Facilities
The building's wings have been converted into specialized operational areas:
The left wing contains the evidence processing lab, fingerprinting station, and forensic examination rooms. These spaces are equipped with specialized lighting and equipment for proper evidence handling and analysis.
The right wing houses the medical examination room, where detainees receive health screenings, and the disciplinary chamber. The latter is a secure room with reinforced fixtures designed for various forms of punishment when deemed necessary by deputies.
Training Facilities
Several rooms have been converted into training spaces, briefing areas, and a secure armory. The largest training facility includes mats, training equipment, and obstacle courses designed to simulate real-world scenarios. This space is used for regular training exercises and physical conditioning of deputies.
The Basement Prison Block
A secure staircase descends from the main reception area to the basement, which houses the permanent detention facility. The original basement has been extensively renovated and expanded to create a modern correctional facility under the command of Sergeant Hana Park.
The basement contains:
5 individual cells with reinforced doors and security windows
An isolation cell for particularly troublesome inmates
A medical bay for treating injuries or administering certain disciplinary measures
A processing area with showers and sanitation facilities
A secure room where formal sentencing procedures are conducted
The lighting in the basement is intentionally subdued to create a more controlled environment. The walls are soundproofed to minimize noise transfer to the upper levels, maintaining a professional atmosphere in the main areas of the station.
All access to the basement is monitored and requires validation from two deputies, making it a maximum security environment. Deputy Deniz typically escorts detainees from the upstairs holding cages down to the basement when they require formal incarceration, delivering them to Sergeant Park's custody with complete documentation.
Stables:
A small building outside of the church at the back has been converted to stables for the the departments mounted unit, enough to comfortably house 2 horses.
